Ashley Nicole Portis is an actor, writer, comedian born and raised on the Westside of Montgomery, Alabama.

She currently resides in the city.

She functions as the Founder & CEO of ꮋꭼꮢ ꮇꭺꮰꭼꭶꮖꮍ ꭺꭶꮋꮮꭼꮍ

Ashley beat the odds by attending Arts Magnet schools K-12- then acquiring her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Alabama State University- graduating in the Fall of 2017 as the most decorated female in the history of the department.

Ashley is most notorious for her viral performance of The Taco Bell Vigil. Solidifying Portis a performing artist in her own lane who making way for major influence on social media. And she did it (seemingly)- overnight.

Her performance was highlighted by National Radio and TV outlets including- Time Magazine, BET Online, MTV’s “TRL Social Media Countdown”, and Emmy Syndicated Daytime Talk Show- “The Real”.

Ashley dreams of using her unlikely success story to become a force in Hollywood- and to one day fulfill her long-time dream of performing for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”.

Some of her favorite credits include- becoming a published author by age 9 for her poem “I Hold in My Hand” dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 tragedy, winning University of Alabama’s UCA Cheer Camp’s “Most Inventive Mascot” for Alabama State University’s Hank The Hornet Halftime performance to a mash-up of Pop Hits from the 2000’s including Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” and Nelly’s “Hot In Here”- and lastly, vanquishing the highly esteemed honor of KCACTF in 2014- with a scene from “Fences”, a duet from “The Color Purple”, and finishing with a monologue from “Motherfucker with the Hat” by Stephen Adly Guirgis.

Portis also triumphs over Bipolar 1 Depression everyday.

As a follower of Christ- she seeks to be the blueprint of light, love, fearlessness, and a purpose driven life as her destiny is documented all across the globe.

Using “The Method of Being” (cultivated and perfected by Frank Silvera, Beatrice Richards, and Dr. Tonea “Tommie” Stewart)- Portis prefers to take on the tough stuff.

The artistic material that takes guts to perform is what Portis finds purposeful, necessary, cathartic- and transformative.

Portis uses the Arts as a vessel to express her joys, sorrows, insecurities, struggles, achievements, challenges, triumphs, highest hopes… and wildest dreams.

Ashley’s life motto is- “Sure it’s crazy… until it happens.”

She truly leaves it all on the stage!

Portis was an integral part of the Hair/Make-Up/Quick-Change Team during Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s 50TH Season.

The productions were as follows: “CINDERELLA”, “MACBETH”, “LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS”, and “FREEDOM RIDER”.

She also instructed ASF ACTING ACADEMY masterclasses for kids- providing them with projects, monologues, headshot/resumes, a showcase & afterparty. She has also taught for T.A.P.S., 3T, Black Seed Arts Academy, Way Off Broadway Theatre, Cloverdale Playhouse, and Lit Poets’ Society, and Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Portis has done numerous speaking engagements, artistic advisement & training, as well as masterclasses amongst a host of other things that she is regularly booked for.

She has also done Special FX Hair, Makeup, & Costume for short films in 2022 as well as a plethora of Acting Coaching since 2009.

Ashley works with kids K-12 daily and was a guest choreographer for Baldwin Arts & Academic Magnet Middle School’s production of Matilda Jr. put on by The Baldwin Players.

June of 2022 she performed in “9 To 5 The Musical” as “Judy” at Way Off Broadway Theatre in Prattville, Alabama.

Ashley Nicole Portis also made an exciting debut Summer of 2023 at Pike Road Theatre Company as “Wendy Jo” in “FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL”.

Most recently, Ashley has collaborated with Mountain Dew to drop the news that “Baja Blast” will not only be available as a fountain drink- but will also be sold in cans and bottles in all retail stores for the year 2024.
